What to Do the Night Before Your Wedding
The rehearsal dinner is over. Tomorrow you get married. Here's how to spend your last night as a non-married person.
Finish the Logistics
Before you relax, knock out the last few tasks: confirm vendor arrival times, charge your phone, lay out everything you need for tomorrow (outfit, shoes, jewelry, emergency kit), and hand off your day-of timeline to your coordinator or point person.
Write a Letter to Your Partner
This is a tradition more couples are adopting, and for good reason. Write a heartfelt letter to be delivered the morning of the wedding. It doesn't have to be long — just genuine. Your partner will read it while getting ready and it sets an emotional tone for the day.
Eat a Real Dinner
The rehearsal dinner often ends earlier than you'd think. Make sure you eat enough — tomorrow is a marathon and many couples barely eat at their own reception.
Limit the Alcohol
A glass of wine to calm the nerves is fine. A full night of drinking is not. You want to wake up feeling fresh and present, not hungover. You'll have plenty of time to celebrate tomorrow.
Go to Bed Early
You won't sleep perfectly — that's normal. But being in bed by 10-11 PM gives you the best chance at rest. Put your phone on Do Not Disturb. Read a book. Take a bath. Whatever helps you wind down.
Don't Start Anything New
The night before your wedding is not the time to rethink the seating chart, rewrite your vows, or have a serious conversation with your partner. Everything is done. Trust your planning. Tomorrow will be perfect.
