Alex and Jordan: A Modern City Wedding With Industrial Charm

Alex and Jordan's warehouse wedding in Brooklyn combined raw industrial aesthetics with warm personal touches for a celebration that was effortlessly cool.

Finding Their Style

Alex, a photographer, and Jordan, an architect, both have strong visual sensibilities. "We knew we didn't want anything traditional," Alex says. "We wanted something that felt like us — creative, a little unexpected, and definitely not in a hotel ballroom." A converted warehouse in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, with exposed brick, steel beams, and enormous factory windows, was exactly right.

The Design

The couple designed everything themselves. The color palette was black, white, and terracotta with lots of greenery. Hanging installations of dried flowers and eucalyptus softened the industrial space. Concrete tables were set with modern black plates, amber glassware, and single olive branch sprigs. The overall effect was striking without trying too hard.

The Ceremony

Their best friend officiated, opening with: "We're here because Alex and Jordan are very, very stubborn about loving each other." The ceremony was short, funny, and deeply personal — exactly 15 minutes. Instead of traditional readings, three friends each shared a one-minute story about the couple.

The Party

A craft cocktail bar served custom drinks named after their relationship milestones. Dinner was tapas-style — small plates meant for sharing, with a focus on the local restaurants they love. The band played everything from Motown to indie rock, and the dance floor was packed all night.

What Made It Special

"We didn't follow any wedding rulebook," Jordan says. "No bouquet toss, no garter, no first dance. We just threw a really good party with the people we love. That's it. That's the secret."
